  I feel pretty medium about this place. Not great, but worked when we were visiting from out of town.
  
  I called to see if there was a wait on Friday night, they said no. (We got there and it was pretty empty. Not a great sign.) I asked if we could sit on the cute little patio space out front. We were quickly told "No, that is bar seating." Dude. it isn't even CONNECTED to the bar?! like - you have to go outside the restaurant to get out to it?! PLUS. No one was seated out there the whole time we were at the restaurant...so, really?
  
  Whatever, we sat in side. It was stufffffffffffy, and hot inside. They had some big fans but no air was moving. Not the most comfortable meal I've experienced.
  
  Chips and salsa were good, and our waitress Grace was VERY kind and attentive. The guacamole was yummy. Other than that our table didn't really love the rest of our food.
  
  Next time we are in town, we will look for a different Mexican restaurant.

  The waiting time is about 45 mins after we order the food. The price for the meals on lunch special is very reasonable ($10 for fajitas) and comes with a big portion, good for two persons. The taste is about average. But I just learned that the Fajitas are American food, not Mexican food. Lol

  Nope. I've heard about this place from so many people telling me it's very good but everything I tasted from the salsa to my dish were very bland! So I mean, this place is good if you like bland food? We waited for about 20 minutes before we got a table. Our server was okay. I felt like she was in charge of too many tables because she was very busy! However, her business didn't result in her being rude or rushed when it came to our service - just a little slow. They give you chips and salsa like any other place as their chips were good, but their salsa tasted like water to me with a slight slight hint of tomato. I got the carne asada burrito ($17) and my bf got something along the lines of "machacca" ($15.5) I think. The burritos came out looking very stuffed but it was 90% beans and 10% meat! Both burritos were also very bland even though it had beans in there?! For my dish, it came with sour cream, pico and guac. Those three things were the only things that had flavor. My bf usually finishes his food but it was just so eh that he didn't even make it halfway. I only made it halfway with mine because I had the sour cream, pico and guac! I am so disappointed with this place. For two people we paid about $38 without tip for crappy food. The decor is very nice but the food was not up to par.
  
  P.S. coke is a staple drink for when eating in the Mexican culture and they only served Pepsi!

  Good not great- worth checking out for sure. I had the house special Oaxaca Enchiladas and Rumchata boozer. Both were good, nothing particularly exciting IMO. Chips and salsa were OUTSTANDING! Warm homemade chips (I think?...) and salsa was just the right amount of spicy. The ambience is also fantastic- couldn't ask for more as far as that went. Others in my party had a variety of things that were all "good."  I wouldn't avoid the restaurant but I also wouldn't go out of my way to return.

  I'm always kind of confused when I see Tres Hombres rated so low. I have visited many times over the years, and have always had a great experience.
  
  I love the atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, it's like you've been transported into an oasis - there are beautiful plants everywhere.  It's fun to look at their decorations as well, but the plants really do it for me.
  
  This is an establishment that serves complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fresh and delicious, and so easy to go through a bowl or three. The salsa is tasty, and a nice addition to your entree as well.
  
  They have a separate section on their menu for vegetarian/vegan options - which is fantastic. When they say "veggie" - they don't veggie lightly, meaning... almost every vegetable you can think of is used in their veggie options (okay, slight hyperbole... but they add a ton!). When getting the veganized-veggie burrito, it was packed full of the normal vegetables you'd expect for a burrito (onion, lettuce, tomato, etc), but also has carrots, and broccoli and cauliflower, peppers. Yum!
  
  This is also a place that I always leave with a take-home box. They just serve you such big meals, it's near impossible to finish in one sitting. It's just as good on round two (but usually by then the tortilla is soft and mushy and not fun to eat).
  
  When you leave, they have three options of mints to take home, and we quite often grab one of each: chocolate mint, key lime, and cinnamon. I... actually might be wrong about the cinnamon, as I usually just grab the key lime and chocolate mint, but I digress.
  
  Tres Hombres is great - it's a place you can get a ton of food, and get generous portions of melted cheese or smothering - if you're into that, or go lighter with a ton of veggies in a vegan/vegetarian option! YUM
